Dear Miktor,
first of all, thank you for the purchase!
To answer your questions:
1). The fixed header part becomes opaque by design (thus is not meant to be changed from the Theme Options panel), since while testing with a transparent fixed header it became clear that the text and images in the header interfere with the rest of the page and become unreadable while scrolling. If you still want the fixed header part to remain transparent on scroll, the “header-functions.php” file is what you’re looking for: simply delete the lines 323-325 (which start and end with the “style” tags). You can also remove opacity by not freezing the header, i.e. changing the settings in Theme Options, “Page Elements” tab, by un-ticking the “Fix the top (logo and menu) section” option.
2). Please check the page template you are using for the front page (the “Template” drop-down in the “Page Attributes” box in the page editor mode) – you’ll need to choose the “Page left sidebar” template.
3). I apologize for this one, it’s an update bug; please download this fix from my repository, unzip it, and upload into the following folder:
/wp-content/plugins/shortcodes/
replacing the existing file. Thank you for pointing this out, I will include the fix into the upcoming update of Tokyo!4). Please provide your website’s URL, I can’t seem to be able to replicate this issue on a separate installation.
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Baybarsorsek,
thank you for the purchase!
There is no need to enable anything to use the sidebar widgets in Tokyo, thus I will need to take a look at your back-end before I can tell what is the root of the problem. Could you please send me your admin credentials to support@satoristudio.net (no disclosure guaranteed), and I’ll do my best to solve your issue in the fastest possible manner!
Best,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Staceeandco,
first of all, thank you for the purchase!
In case you are talking about the images on the demo’s background slider seen on the front page – the texture has been applied onto the images themselves prior to uploading them – I simply modified the images in Fireworks (a graphics software), adding a “Grid 6” type texture and setting it to semi-transparency and gradient to make the edges darker. Since ThemeForest themes do not include images used in the previews, these images are not a part of the theme, but I’ve uploaded the layered png files here (beware that the archive is 31 Mb large since the images are in high quality) – you can modify and use them as you wish ;)
If you want, you can also send me the background image(s), as long as there aren’t too many of them, and I will apply the texture for you.
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Alex,
one more thing worth checking before I ask for your admin credentials: since you have only “thumbnails” selected for the Recent Posts Slider, please check if the posts in the concerned categories do have featured images (see the Manual page 4 on how to set featured images for posts) – otherwise the slider will return empty images. If this does not help, please provide your admin username and password to support@satoristudio.net – I will take a closer look at the back end and do my best to solve the issue!
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterGreat to hear!
Should you have other questions or face issues, do not hesitate to contact me, will be glad to help!
Best,
A.satoriKeymasterStupid me! Please remove all declarations from the “.page h1” part (i.e. both the float and the width).
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear David,
I can see from the code that the line I mentioned is still there :) Let’s do it this way: please download this fixed style.css from my repository, unzip it, and re-upload via ftp into the theme folder (/wp-content/themes/Origami/).
Let me know if this works!
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Lowell,
I didn’t change any of the social media widget settings – but I can see that it has been upgraded to the latest version, which again rewrites all the custom files from the theme, which means that the styles and the settings included in Tokyo disappear. I should change the name of that widget probably – will definitely implement a fix for the upcoming theme update. At this point, what will need to be done is erasing all content from the plugin folder via ftp (/wp-content/plugins/social-media-widget/) and re-uploading the files found inside the folder “social-media-widget” which is inside the archive of the same name, which in turn can be located inside the theme itself: /Tokyo/includes/plugins/. If you want, you can provide your ftp credentials to support@satoristudio.net and I can revert the plugin for you.
Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience!
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Dave,
thank you for noticing this, and my apologies for the bug! Indeed, on smaller screens long page headings get cropped on the right; to fix this, please go to “Appearance -> Editor” and inside the file that opens (style.css) locate (ctrl+f) the line which says:
.page h1 {
float: left;
width: 100%;
}
It should be number 606; erase the part which says “width: 100%;” and hit “Update file”.I must note that I was not able to reproduce the same bug on a normal-sized laptop screen, could you please provide the URL of the page in question so that I could look at the code?
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudioMarch 27, 2013 at 7:43 pm in reply to: Problems with sidebars and getting different page layouts #1128satoriKeymasterDear Becky,
first of all, thank you for the purchase!
To determine the root of the sidebar problem, I’ll need to take a look at the admin side – could you please ask Joseph to send me the website’s admin credentials to support@satoristudio.net (no disclosure guaranteed). But before that, please check if there are any widgets assigned to the custom sidebars you’ve created – you can do that by visiting the “Appearance -> Widgets” menu.
Regarding the second question – in case you wish to display images in the sidebar, you can use one of the many third-party widgets, e.g. this one. WordPress does not have a “native” widget for that, unfortunately, but you can also insert an image into the simple text widget, by using the HTML image tag (surely Joseph knows how to do it ;)
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori Studio -
