Hey Alan,
the text in the 2×1 tiles in tag-filtered views are sourced from the “Description” field of the respective tags, which you can alter in the “Portfolio -> Tags” admin section, by clicking on any of the existing tags on the right. WordPress automatically removes all html from such fields, so only plain text is possible here at the moment. If you’d like to remove the 2×1 tiles completely, please let me know, I will provide the instructions.
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Alan,
please try switching to “Post name” url slug structure in the “Settings -> Permalinks” admin section – not only will this display the relevant parts of portfolio when clicking on icon menu items outside of the portfolio page (you’ll need to clear the “Link URL” field of each icon menu item in the Theme Options) – it will also make your URLs more semantic, which will in turn help both users and search engines orient themselves on your website.
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey ajlitton,
I can’t seem to be able to replicate the error messages you’ve described; could you please update your instance of Ikebana to the latest version (3.4) and check if the errors persist; if they do, please drop me a line at support@satoristudio.net providing the url of the webpage in question, if available live. I will investigate further. Thanks!
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Alangreg,
when in the file upload pop-up, please check the “File URL” field after uploading the image: in case it displays an attachment URL (ending with “?attachment_id=xx”) or an empty field, press the “File URL” button below the url field so that the link is a direct address of the image file (ends with the filename of the uploaded file and an image extension, e.g. .jpg or .png). Once you have chosen the item and settings, press “Add to OptionTree”. Do not forget to also click on the green “Save all changes” button in the top/bottom right corner of the Theme Options panel.
Please let me know in case the above information does not help to solve the issue – we’ll keep looking for a solution!
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Alangreg,
I’ll go over the issues in the same order:
1). Please excuse me, forgot one more thing: try selecting the necessary sidebar areas (in your case – Sidebar) in the “Replaceable Sidebars” section in the top left corner of the Appearance Custom Sidebars admin section and clicking on “Save changes” underneath.
2). The unzipped php file should be uploaded into the following folder inside the WordPress directory of your website:
/wp-content/themes/Ikebana
– via an FTP client or using your hosting provider’s file manager, available on most hosting management admins such as cPanel or Plesk.Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Irin,
first of all, please accept my apologies for such a long delay in the reply!
The width of each portfolio item is determined automatically depending on the number of items per line – they all take up equal share of the total content width. You can set the number of items per portfolio grid line using the “Number of portfolio items per line” setting on the “Portfolio Page” tab of the Theme Options panel. Thanks for your patience!
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Toni,
first of all, thank you for using Ikebana!
This is a WP core feature and is thus theme-independent (i.e. works the same way with Ikebana as with any other theme). You can create post extracts to be shown on the blog page (this will enable the “read more” link, clicking on which the user will be able to read the entire post) by inserting “more” tags into post contents in the place where you want the excerpt to end. In WordPress, you need to insert a special tag into the post content to tell the blog page to display only the content above the tag. In the visual edit mode, use the “Inset more tag” button on the panel above the content; in the HTML mode, the button says “more”; or – you can simply write it by hand (see the links below on how it should look like). You can find additional information on using the “more” tag on the WordPress.org official website, here.
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Alangreg,
first of all, thank you for choosing Ikebana!
There is a section called “Post layout” in the right-hand side of the editor view for each project, which allows you to control whether or not a particular project has a sidebar; if that one doesn’t show by default, please click on the “Screen Options” tab in the top right corner of the editor view and tick the respective box.
If you need each project to have unique content in the sidebar, you can use the theme’s built-in custom sidebar functionality; new sidebars can be created in the “Appearance -> Custom Sidebars” admin section, filled with widgets in the “Appearance -> Widgets” section, and assigned to a specific project by using the “Sidebar” settings box in the right-hand side of the editor view for that project.
Please let me know if you face any difficulties with this one, or in case I misunderstood the question :)
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Ajlitton,
the captions for video tiles only appear when the “Playable video in masonry tile” is not checked, and they are sourced from the “Excerpt” box in the project editor mode – could you please double-check that it has content you your case? If it does and the caption still doesn’t show, please send me an email to support@satoristudio.net, we’ll investigate it further.
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterHey Unusual, Ajlitton,
firstly, please accept my apologies for the delay in my reply.
After an investigation I found that it’s indeed a bug in the function which saves post meta, thank you for reporting! I’ve created a fix, please download this archive, unzip it, and upload the resulting file into the following folder inside your WordPress install: /wp-content/themes/Ikebana/ – replacing the existing file. Should you face any difficulties with that, please let me know! I will also include the fix into the upcoming update of the core file on ThemeForest.
Sincerely,
Andrii / Satori Studio -
