Dear Lowell,
– regarding the background issue: WordPress adds a “default template” choice to the Page Template drop-down, although there my not exist such separate template file per se. This is why when you leave a page’s template on default, it will not react to the background slider settings regarding page templates, since those settings affect the templates inside the theme. There are two ways to circumvent this: either choose the “Page, Right Sidebar” option from the page template drop-down on concerned pages (which I did on your website, and now it works well) – OR tick the “All Pages” option in the “Display” tab of the “Appearance -> Background Settings” menu.
– regarding the tabs: this stemmed from the fact that the Shortcodes Ultimate plugin was installed separately, which was not a particularly good piece of advice from me, I must admit. Since the shortcodes included in the theme had a fully customized stylesheet, the original plugin’s styles broke the display of the tabs. I’ve replaced the CSS styling file in Shortcodes Ultimate with the one from the theme, and now it displays well ;)
– I am not sure I understood what you meant by “completely blank” in case of admin settings, could you please clarify? In case you meant the fact that there are no theme colour scheme presets – then I can assure that I’ve considered this possibility when creating the theme, yet since there are so many e.g. colour settings and the tastes of people are so different, the colour scheme(s) would be used very seldom. From my experience (after selling over 500 themes), I learned that every buyer wants to customize the defaults, i.e. fine-tune all the colours and other settings to make the website look as unique as possible.
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterThanks, Dave ;)
satoriKeymasterDear Lowell,
I confirm that this is a bug – the function that is matching the current page template with the chosen background settings had a problem in it. I’ve uploaded the fix here, please unpack it and re-upload into wp-content/themes/Tokyo/includes/supersized/includes/, replacing the original files. Please let me know if it works now!
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Awall,
the most probable “candidate” I see from your setting page is the “Category IDs” field – please note that post IDs and category IDs are not the same thing in WordPress – the latter are typically in single digits, so the ones you’ve filled most probably do not exist. To find out the category ID(s) you need, please visit the “Posts -> Categories” menu, click “Edit” on the category you need, and look at the URL of the page: the number after “&tag_ID=” is what you’re looking for.
Let me know if this helps ;)
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Lowell,
I’ve checked the website – no bugs there, both issues can be solved by adjusting the Theme Options:
– the background slider, as well as any other custom header, will only be displayed if the “Display custom header” option is checked in the “Header Elements” tab of the Theme Options panel. You can find more information on the header on page 5 of the Manual. Now the front page is showing the background slider.
– you’ve checked the “Hide page titles on pages” option in the “Page Elements” tab of the Theme Options panel – this is why the headings are not being displayed on pages ;) You have two choices – either un-check this option or declare the “display: block” style in the H1 tag.
Regarding the background slider sourcing and captions – the easiest way to achieve a background slider on the front page in your case would probably be to choose the “WP Media Gallery” tab from the “Background Slider/Image Source of Images” options box just below the text area in the page editor mode. Then upload the images you need as simple image attachments (i.e. using the “Add media” button above the text area). The system will then display on that page the background slider composed of the images you’ve uploaded.
Should you have more questions, do not hesitate to ask!
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Luca,
No problem! It’s actually quite strange that they allow another theme to pick the same name (mine was uploaded several months earlier than the one you linked to). Might be issues with automatic theme updaters. I’ll contact the admins just in case, thanks for bringing this up.
Best,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Strillogy,
first of all, thank you for the purchase!
Regarding the background slider: in “Appearance -> Background Slider”, the “Slides Source” tab, you can choose the default directory from where to source the slides (“Default slides directory” option). You can add the captions to the images e.g. by going to “Media -> Library” menu, clicking “edit” on the uploaded image, and filling in the “caption” field. In case this does not solve the problem, please send me your website’s URL and login details to support@satoristudio.net so that I could provide a more detailed response to this issue.
The menu colours issue is indeed a small bug, my apologies for that. Please download this fix from my repository, unzip it, and upload into the following folder: wp-content/themes/Tokyo/, replacing the existing file. It corrects the “Main menu hover background color” option; I’ve double checked and the “Main menu submenu hover background color” option already functions as intended.
Should you have more questions, do not hesitate to contact me, I’ll be glad to help out!
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterDear Luca,
there has been a misunderstanding: the URL you provided is a completely different theme, my (i.e. Satori Studio) theme is available exclusively on ThemeForest – http://themeforest.net/item/fuji-clean-responsive-wordpress-theme/2586473.
Sincerely,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterGood to know! Thanks for bringing this up, I’ll include the fix in the next theme update for Fuji.
Should you have more questions or face any issues, do not hesitate to contact me!
Best,
Andrew | Satori StudiosatoriKeymasterAnytime ;)
