    Hi Andrew,

here are a couple screenshots showing how they display for me in firefox:
    http://jgarcia.hungry.jp/uploads/site.jpg
    http://jgarcia.hungry.jp/uploads/blog.jpg

after installing chrome and trying that, I found that while not offset vertically the portfolio page and blog page are offset differently horizontally:

If the background image thing is difficult I can live with the current system, I just thought that instead of aligning the top of the image with the top of the window and cropping off the bottom, it could align the bottom of the image with the bottom of the window and crop off the top, it didn’t seem to me like something that couldn’t be automated but I’m not experienced in this area.

Thanks for the file, works perfectly.

As for the header, yes it’s still displaced after it loads, if you click on the blog section of my site the whole page is offset differently.

Also another thing I noticed is that the bottom of the background image is cut off, I understand that this has to be done so the image fits on the screen properly but is there a way to get it to maybe cut off both the bottom and the top equally? or maybe just the top?

    Excellent thanks

Thanks for the heads up about the background, when opening it from a fresh browser here it only seems to take about 3 seconds to load but I guess in Japan the connections are particularly fast. I’ll see if I can make it smaller without having to sacrifice any quality.

Ok thanks apart from that I really like the feel of the Nivo slider, very smooth

“the “gallery”-format will only use the images that are attached to that particular post, which in WordPress means they were uploaded into that particular post.”

Ok I just figured out what this means, I was totally not grasping the concept of how your sample content was working but it’s all clear now and I can create galleries. The only real problem I have now with the galleries is that they don’t display properly on my home page (as I mentioned in my other forum thread)

As for the nivo slider shortcode I’ve managed to get it working but it seems to have some problem with the images being different proportions as seen here: http://jgarcia.hungry.jp/?p=612
I’m guessing this is something related to nivo itself and I’ll just have to make all my images the same proportions?

    Hi Andrew,

I’m not sure we’re on the same page here, what I was talking about is the [custom_gallery] shortcode and inserting it into regular blog posts, but really what I’m looking for is something like this http://jgarcia.hungry.jp/?p=401
But with possibly some text before and after the gallery, like the gallery was incorporated into a regular blog post.
I have no idea how to use the [custom_gallery] shortcode anyway though, if there’s a manual somewhere on how to get it to display a gallery I would be grateful.

And the other thing is that I can’t actually seem to be able to create a gallery blog post like the one in your sample content, if I try to look at your gallery post from the admin area, I don’t see any images attached to it at all.
Trying it myself I can’t get a regular gallery blog post to work either, if you look here:
    http://jgarcia.hungry.jp/?page_id=9
the first post of the page “もんちゃん” is a gallery post, where I’ve attached one image as an “eyecatch” (as it says in jp wordpress) and 2 others as media added to the page which show up if you view the blog post on its own.

also would it be possible to have an ability to make some portfolio items unclickable? Like if I wanted the gallery to show on the portfolio page but not have it lead to another page that shows just the gallery? so essentially it only exists on the portfolio page?

Thanks, uploading the files fixed how the gallery displays once you click on it, but on the portfolio page the gallery portfolio items appear to be sized bigger than the size of the box and the left and right arrow controls are not visible at all anymore
